I love Utah. The state I mean. Actually I don't mean that b/c i'm being funny. It's just funny that people (mostly from this state, except for the occasional psycho from espn...ie lisa horne) actually think Utah has a right to the national title. Florida won the National Championship. I just think it's funny that people think Utah should have a share. Just doesn't work that way. Florida is clearly the best team overall. Remember the SEC Championship when they beat Alabama, #1 at the time? Well, that qualified them for the National Title...which they won, easily. There is no plus-1 system, where Florida would now have to play Utah. Undefeated only means something in the BCS conferences. Besides, if the SEC didn't have a championship game, then this would all be different wouldn't it? Same thing for the Big 12. Maybe even for the mountain west...who knows, every game is different. Sorry Utah, maybe next year....more specifically, maybe not. This is all rhetorical anyways.

Good try, except I never said one game defines a conference. Utah earned a National Champ and they don't get it because the BCS sucks and they seem to have forgotten that Florida lost at home, not even on the road to Miss. Do you really like the BCS? I am starting to think so. It would be much more interesting to see who the real champs would be every year by earning it, just like in bball.
why are you defending Utah??? We're going round and round on the same subject. You're glorious regular season team bombed and now you're rooting for a team you usually hate. The argument now is the same as it was in september. Who cares that florida lost to ole miss (the team who beat the "amazing" texas tech by the way). You've watched Florida play haven't you....you think they are a bad team? Utah only seems good b/c they beat 1 good team. Had they lost, nobody would have cared. They won, so now they think they're spectacular. Look at the other wins.

I am a huge mountain west fan but I do say I agree with josh. There is no way Utah should deserve a national championship. Did you see them play ANY other game besides the sugar bowl? They almost lost/ barely won like 5 games. It was not nearly impressive enough to warrant a national championship. I know I know, "but they won all of their games". Well let me let you in on what is going through all of the voters minds. I know I know "but florida lost to ole miss". If you put utah through the same schedule as florida, the voters think they probably would have lost 2 or more games. Since utah didn't play florida you can't put them ahead of florida. The MOST you can argue for is a shot to play florida. That could be considered fair. But since you can't, there is no way you can give a national championship to utah OVER florida. When comparing the two teams WITHOUT playing, most voters thought florida was the better team. So no, they don't deserve it
